HIEMT Machine Frequently Asked Questions
What is a HIEMT machine and how does it work?
A HIEMT machine uses a focused electromagnetic field to trigger involuntary muscle contractions in the area beneath the applicator. The field induces motor neuron depolarisation without passing current across the skin. HiEmpact Pro delivers this at 0 to 7 Tesla with integrated radiofrequency providing controlled warming in the same session.
What is the difference between EMS and HIEMT?
Electrode based EMS passes current between pads placed on the skin, so intensity is limited by surface tolerance. HIEMT induces the contraction using a magnetic field with no surface current. The two are frequently listed under the same EMS label by suppliers, which is why buyers should confirm the mechanism described in any quote.
Is HIEMT the same as branded body sculpting systems?
HIEMT is the generic technology category. Several manufacturers hold registered trademarks covering their own branded platforms and specific applicator implementations. HiEmpact Pro is an independent HIEMT and RF platform supplied in Australia by Aesthetics Consults and is not affiliated with any other manufacturer.
How much does a commercial HIEMT machine cost?
Configuration, applicator count, RF integration, warranty and support account for most of the price variation across this category. Request current HiEmpact Pro pricing and finance terms through the enquiry form and our team will provide figures for your configuration.
What areas can be treated?
Abdomen, glutes, thighs, arms and calves. A pelvic floor applicator option is available. Suitability for any individual client is determined by practitioner assessment.
How long is a session?
The manufacturer recommends approximately 30 minutes, subject to practitioner assessment and individual protocols.
Does a higher Tesla figure mean a better machine?
Not on its own. Tesla measures peak magnetic flux density at the applicator surface. It says nothing about pulse shaping, energy distribution through tissue or sustained output over a full session. Compare frequency range, pulse width and duty cycle alongside the Tesla figure.
Does the machine need consumables?
No electrodes, gels or disposable tips are required for HIEMT treatment. Confirm consumable requirements for any additional accessories at the point of purchase.
Who can operate a HIEMT device in Australia?
This depends on your state or territory, your professional registration and your insurer. HIEMT is not a licensed laser or IPL class device, so radiation safety licensing does not apply in the same way, but professional scope and indemnity conditions still do. Confirm with your indemnity provider before advertising the service.
What are the contraindications?
Screening should cover implanted electronic devices such as pacemakers and defibrillators, metal implants in or near the treatment area, pregnancy, and any condition excluded by your professional scope or insurer. Full contraindication guidance is provided during operator training.
What training and support is included?
Delivery and installation, operator training covering device operation and applicator placement, commercial guidance on service packaging, marketing support, finance information and ongoing technical assistance.
Can four applicators treat two clients at once?
Four applicators allow coverage of multiple areas in a single session, or two clients where room layout, staffing and your service model support it. Throughput depends on your treatment room configuration rather than on the device alone.
